I’m Leo Brooke-Little, I have always run as a recreational runner, by no means the fastest but I always get there and have run many marathons and beyond. I have 20 years experience of the catering industry and having recently sold our business decided to head down an avenue I have wanted to explore for many years.
I am fully qualified as a Personal Trainer and have become so due to my belief that the benefits of exercise should be enjoyed by all. I also recognise the many barriers thrown up by society, that not only hinder us but actively detract from our ability to actively exercise on a regular basis.
Odd as it may seem I really want to help you achieve your goals and aspirations however great or modest they may be. In my time in the industry I am always amazed at the great progress everyone can make in a relatively short space of time.
I also train with my son in Kick Boxing and Taekwondo, which not only helps me to develop in an area outside running but I am also able to add some boxing into routines through ideas developed with our Martial Arts instructor.
I have recently trained with Fight Fit – http://www.fightfit.co.uk – and to quote from their site – “Getting fitter with the support of one of our Fight Fit Personal Trainers makes getting in shape so much easier and much more fun! With a trainer by your side to motivate you, get your focus levels where they need to be and develop effective workout routines, nutritional programmes and healthy lifestyle changes that are exactly right for you, you will be able to reach your health and fitness goals faster than you would ever think possible.”

TESTIMONIALS
I’ve added a couple of testimonials below, if you are considering using my services I would be more than happy to put you in direct contact with the writers.
After meeting Leo through our sons’ mutual school, I decided to give one of his group sessions a go with the intention of perhaps joining the session on a regular basis. At age 40 and a lack of regular exercise for a few years i was a few pounds heavier than I would’ve like to have been and chasing my sons around the garden was enough to get me out of breath!
However, with plenty of other things to spend my money on, an hours group exercise a week for £5 was surely enough to convince me I was getting fit without breaking the bank. That first session was so good that I booked in for a 1:1 session that week and, 18 months on, I’m still going two or three times a week mixing up personal 1:1 sessions and groups. The sessions are always full of variety so I don’t get bored (running, boxing, circuit training, mountain bikes to name a few) and the timings are really flexible so even when work is hideous I can always find a slot each week that works for me. But the most valuable thing about having a personal trainer is having a personal trainer; i know if it was just down to me I would’ve given up exercise within a few weeks (yes – I have the obligatory gym subscription and I never get past the spa). Leo is a brilliant motivator, professionally qualified so you get all the correct advice and completely focussed on his clients’ individual needs. Having someone to train with makes all the difference and I couldn’t give it up, not now – I’m so much fitter and it feels great!
As a child I was useless at sport (and no better as an adult!) but enjoyed Ballet until well into my teens. Since leaving school I have had the odd ‘burst’ of regular Aerobics classes but then got bored and so for years had done absolutely no exercise at all, describing myself as physically bone idle. I suspected for a long time that a lack of exercise was affecting my mood but struggled to summon-up any enthusiasm to do anything about it. I knew that if I was going to stand any chance of sticking with any form of regular exercise I would need to heavily invest both time & money in an intensive kick-start programme so that I would feel there was no going back. Cleverly, my husband kindly offered to pay for ten 1:1 sessions with Leo last August which made it impossible for me to back out or give-up! I went Monday – Friday for two weeks and Leo, understanding I hated exercise and knowing I get bored easily, gave me a taster of lots of different things including cycling, kayaking & some martial arts. On day one I was really unfit and could only really manage jogging for 30 seconds without wanting to stop but, thanks to a variety of different activities, by Day 9 I had jogged a mile without stopping.
I have never looked back! I couldn’t stop exercising now – it is a priority in my life as my mood has lifted and I am enjoying competing with myself in terms of bettering previous personal bests. I have discovered I like jogging (slowly!) and at the end of November ran a 5 mile cross-country race for charity. I wasn’t racing – my goal was to finish without stopping. I see Leo for a 1:1 every week and then join as many of the Group Sessions as I can. I am never bored – every session is different. The Group Sessions are good fun (everyone works at their own level) and I have met some really lovely people who I enjoy seeing as much as I enjoy the benefits of the exercise.
Six months ago if you had said I would be writing this now I would have laughed! No one is more surprised than me at how far I have come and how I haven’t got bored and given-up. Seeing Leo has changed my life – I am his number one fan and, no, he hasn’t paid me to say that!
